How You Can Help

1) Spread the word. Tell all your colleagues about the site, and get talking about stopping MMC.

2) Be a point of contact for your hospital. The more the merrier! We need people to spread the word and gather local feedback. Email us at contact-us@northernirishmedics.org.uk to get involved.

3) Inform and Challenge your consultants. We know many are opposed to the current process but feel powerless. Encourage them to contact us, visit the website, and ask them to involve their colleagues. We are writing to all consultants asking them to withdraw from the process. We also ask all doctors to forward the Remedy letter to their consultant.

4) Join Remedy UK. Remedy are working at a national level and are proving to be the most effective opposition to the MMC/MTAS changes. Click on the banner at the top of the page to visit their site. Also visit their forum to give your views on further action.

5) Lobby your MP/MLA. MP's do read letters and email if they are personal. Most of them aren't clear on the detail of why doctors are so demoralised. You can spell it out for them.

Please write to your MP to tell them about the training reform, how it affects you, your concerns for the future . It takes 5 minutes (no exaggeration) - Use http://www.writetothem.com/ and http://www.theyworkforyou.com to find their details. Ask them to SIGN THE EARLY DAY MOTION (No 737) in parliament. We currently have 97 MP's who are signed up to this. Lets get it above 100. Click here to see this online.

6) Sign the petitions on the Downing Street website. This takes literally seconds, and can be found at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/medicaltraining/. There is also a petition calling for a guarantee against unemployment for those involved in the process - http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/JuniorDoctorJobs/

7) Write to the press. National and Local. Tell them your story, and explain how MMC and MTAS are damaging medicine in Northern Ireland. See our Press Coverage page for news coverage.
